READAIDE
UX/UI, Design Research, Branding
During this pandemic, most students are struggling to adjust to online learning, especially those with dyslexia who learn best in person with more hands-on visuals. ReadAide is a tutor app that helps students with dyslexia that need some extra time with their teacher or tutors.
The goal of this project was to solve the problem for dyslexia students that need more time or accommodations with their school work. Dyslexia students require accommodations such as; reading an exam aloud, extra time on exams, recorded lectures, textbooks in audio format, and additional practice activities. The app provides a way to schedule video chat meetings for any subject with the student's teachers or tutors. Depending on what the student needs, there are different categories to choose from when scheduling a video chat meeting, therefore the teacher or tutor is prepared with necessary files and lesson plans. The students and teachers can also communicate through direct messages, sending each other files and important messages.
Empathy Map
The empathy map helped in understanding who the user is and what their needs are. The experiences represented in the empathy map helped interpret the specific design needs.
Stakeholder Map
The stakeholder map helped in creating a visual representation of all the people who would influence the app and how they are connected.
Needs Statement
The needs statement helped established the specific problems that needed to be addressed and helped brainstorm potential solutions and ideas.
